Outlook 2007

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Select Tools > Account Settings
  3. Select the email tab if it is not already selected
  4. Press "New"
  5. Check the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" box
  6. Choose Internet Email
  7. In the Internet Email settings window input the following data
  8. Your Name:
    Your name (will appear in the From field)
    Email Address:
    Full email address
    Account Type:
    POP3
    Incoming mail server:
    Your name (will appear in the From field)
    Outgoing mail server:
    Your ISP's outgoing server e.g - mail.bigpond.com or mail.optusnet.com.au, to help find yours a full list can be found here: http://support.stayingintouch.com.au/list-of-common-isp-outgoing-mail-smtp-servers/
    Username:
    Your full email address
    Password:
    The password you were sent in your setup email, tick remember password
  9. Click Next and then Finish

To avoid overloading your email server

  1. Step 1

    Open Microsoft Outlook. Once open, click on Tools / E-mail Accounts.

  2. Step 2

    Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next.

  3. Step 3

    Highlight the account you would like to edit and click the button which says Change.

  4. Step 4

    On the next screen, which contains the incoming and outgoing server information, click the button which says More Settings.

    Click on the tab which says Advanced.

  6. Step 6

    Choose the Advanced tab. In the “Advanced” tab, make sure that Leave a copy of messages on the server is checked. Then change the “14” to the number of days you want to leave messages on our servers: "That means emails will be remove after 30 days from server so you need to download emails to local computer if it is important more that 30 days" Once your desired options are set, click OK, then Next, then Finish.
